Loong Air Boosts Economic Ties with Chengdu–Taichung Direct Flight Launch

Published on

Loong Air has introduced a new direct flight service connecting Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in China with Taichung International Airport in Taiwan. This new route, which marks the airline’s first foray into cross-strait services, aims to enhance travel accessibility between the southwestern region of China and central Taiwan.

The flights are scheduled to operate twice weekly, specifically on Tuesdays and Saturdays, providing travelers with more options for direct air travel across the strait. This new addition is poised to strengthen the ties between the two locations, facilitating easier movement for passengers and potentially boosting tourism and business interactions.

Taichung International Airport, now with the inclusion of the Chengdu service, boasts a total of 31 routes that are either currently operational or have been announced. These include 20 regular flight services alongside 11 charter routes, offering a diverse range of travel options for passengers.

As part of its international offerings, Taichung Airport now serves three scheduled cross-strait routes, with Chengdu joining the ranks alongside Nanjing and Qingdao. This development signifies a continued expansion of the airport’s connectivity, further establishing it as a vital hub in the region.
