Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung has arrived in Paraguay at the head of a business delegation focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in technology, industry, and infrastructure development.
During the visit, Lin will tour several Taiwan-supported projects, including the Taiwan-Paraguay Smart Technology Park and the Taiwan-Paraguay Polytechnic University. These initiatives reflect the ongoing partnership between the two nations in advancing education and innovation.
The foreign minister will also inspect Taiwan’s donation of electric buses to Paraguay and review progress on the Health Information Management Efficiency Enhancement Project, showcasing Taiwan’s commitment to sustainable transport and healthcare improvement.
Lin emphasized that although Taiwan and Paraguay are geographically distant, they remain close allies bonded by shared democratic values and mutual goals in modernization and development.
The Taiwanese delegation includes leaders from key sectors such as semiconductors, ICT, smart transportation, agri-tech, construction, and advanced textiles. Paraguay remains Taiwan’s only diplomatic ally in South America, with relations dating back to 1957.
