Typhoon Podul Causes Widespread Travel Disruptions in Taiwan

Published on

Typhoon Podul has caused significant disruption to rail and ferry services across Taiwan due to powerful winds and heavy rain.
The Taiwan Railway Corporation (TRC) suspended all rail services on the Hualien-Taitung and South Link lines and made adjustments to the schedule of trains on the west coast line. Multiple express trains were either canceled or had their routes shortened.
Ferry travel was also severely impacted. The Maritime Port Bureau announced the cancellation of 129 journeys across 14 different routes. These affected routes connect Taiwan’s main island to various offshore islands and coastal cities in China.
