China, Germany Advocate Enhanced Business Ties and Unrestricted Trade Policies

Published on

In a world facing significant economic challenges, the call for enhanced international cooperation has become more pressing. This sentiment was echoed during a recent discussion between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul. On Monday, the two leaders engaged in a phone conversation where they emphasized the importance of fostering stronger ties between China and Germany, particularly in upholding multilateralism and free trade.

Wang Yi highlighted the mutual benefits that would stem from closer economic and strategic collaboration, advocating for increased communication and trust between the two nations. As part of this cooperative vision, Wang urged Germany to maintain its adherence to the one-China principle, a stance that underscores China’s position on Taiwan, and to promote stability across the Taiwan Strait.

From the German side, Foreign Minister Wadephul expressed optimism about the ongoing positive momentum in Germany-China relations. He reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to the one-China policy and supported the idea of enhancing high-level exchanges and expanding cooperation in trade and economic matters.

Apart from bilateral issues, the conversation also touched on broader international concerns, such as the situations in Iran and Ukraine. Wang Yi reiterated China’s dedication to supporting peace efforts and emphasized the importance of strengthening dialogues with Germany and the European Union to address global issues through diplomatic means rather than confrontation.

This dialogue between China and Germany reflects a shared understanding of the need for collaborative approaches to global challenges, highlighting a commitment to dialogue and partnership in an increasingly interconnected world.
