Taiwan and Thailand Strengthen AI-Driven Smart Agriculture Collaboration

Published on

Taiwan and Thailand are joining forces to enhance their smart agriculture sectors, emphasizing the integration of artificial intelligence, low-carbon farming, and agricultural technology. This collaboration was marked by a recent visit from a Taiwanese delegation consisting of government officials, industry leaders, academics, and research experts to key Thai locations including Bangkok, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai.

During their visit, the Taiwanese group engaged in discussions with Thai officials and research institutions, focusing on the development and application of AI in agriculture. The talks highlighted the importance of smart-farming technologies, low-carbon agricultural practices, and the role of public-private partnerships in modernizing agricultural production. The delegation also explored practical implementations by visiting farms and organizations utilizing smart-farming methods, such as those engaged in organic tea production and eco-friendly banana cultivation.

A significant aspect of the discussions took place at Maejo University, where the focus was on agricultural engineering, technology adaptation, and the development of skilled professionals to support the sector’s growth. These interactions helped in identifying Thailand’s specific needs for smart-farming equipment, technologies, and operational support.

Looking forward, Taiwan aims to leverage existing agricultural cooperation programs with Thailand to promote joint research initiatives, talent exchanges, field testing, and business partnerships in smart agriculture. This strategic partnership is expected to foster technological advancements and sustainable practices in both countries’ agricultural sectors.
