The European Parliament has recognized Taiwan’s vital role in bolstering information integrity, media pluralism, and human rights, asserting the island’s importance as a key partner for the EU.

In a report released by the European Parliament’s Special Committee on the European Democracy Shield, Taiwan’s efforts to counteract gray-zone tactics, notably from China, are highlighted as exemplary. The report underscores the island’s comprehensive approach to civil defense and resilience, suggesting that the EU could benefit from Taiwan’s experience as it seeks to enhance its own preparedness and resilience strategies.
