In a bid to enhance public comprehension of scientific advancements and boost science literacy across the nation, China is set to kick off its National Science Popularization Month. This extensive programme, spanning a full month, is themed “Science Transforms Lives, Innovation Secures the Future.” A multitude of exhibitions, lectures, science tours, and activities designed to engage the public are scheduled to take place.

Beijing will serve as a focal point for the celebration, hosting over 100 exhibitions and events at key venues throughout the city. Beyond the capital, national scientific societies are preparing to organize more than 150 activities countrywide. The aim is to make basic research and the latest scientific developments more accessible and understandable to the general public, fostering a greater interest in science and technology.

One of the highlights of this ambitious initiative includes providing visitors with the unique opportunity to explore laboratories and research facilities. Adding an international dimension to the programme, the 2026 World Conference on Science Literacy is set to take place in mid-September in Beijing.
