Weakened Supreme Leader Vows Continued Resistance After Nuclear Strikes

Published on

In his first public appearance since the outbreak of hostilities, Iran’s Supreme Leader showed clear signs of physical strain from the prolonged crisis. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appeared notably frail and spoke with difficulty, reflecting the impact of weeks spent in hiding during the military confrontation.
The Iranian leader’s speech focused on challenging President Trump’s characterization of the nuclear strikes’ effectiveness while acknowledging substantial damage. International nuclear watchdog officials confirmed that the attacks had caused considerable harm to Iran’s atomic infrastructure, though they avoided declaring the program completely destroyed.
Iran’s retaliatory attack on US forces in Qatar was highlighted by Khamenei as evidence of his country’s continued military effectiveness despite the bombardment. He characterized this strike as successful retaliation and warning that American interests remain vulnerable throughout the region.
The ceasefire has allowed Iran to begin the process of recovery, with partial airspace reopening and gradual restoration of civilian activities. However, the country faces enormous challenges in rebuilding its damaged infrastructure while maintaining its confrontational stance toward the international community.
